Since my studio is still not ready I am not back into creating mode yet. I have to carve a little space and also have to allow myself to scrap a page instead of getting something organized.

It is not an easy task for me. I am an organization / cleaning freak LOL

He is here

The last thing I got organized were my Project Life Cards. I do also have a bunch of 12×12″ patterned paper that I bought with the purpose to cut them down and use as journaling cards so I decided to finally do it and sort the cards in my new PL cards box.

The card above with the “he is here” saying is part of the Crate Paper – Little Boy Blue – Accent cuts patterned paper sheet. I love the subtle colors and thought it would be great for an Easter layout. Osterhase means Easter Bunny, so the page is about his arrival last Easter Sunday ;)

He is here

I paired the card with a sheet from the Little Boy Blue 6×6″ Paper Pad and some vintage book pages. The cloud badge is part of the Bike Season set available on my Etsy and Dawanda stores.

I am also looking forward to use my paper pads now they are all organized and easy to reach. Already loving my new studio space, even if it is a bit far from being ready.

Thanks for stopping by today!

I did not mean to disappear for two whole weeks but the renovations and the move to my new studio / office has been lot of work. I am happy that things are getting ready, my house looks like pretty OK again and now it is time to start the new phase of this work.

I still need to get a desk build in the new office and we will switch rooms with the girls – this mean moving our wardrobes and its contents. It is going to be lot of work again, but also a good oppostunity to more decluter.

I am sorting and downsizing as this whole building work goes. So when we are ready, I’ll not only have a room more in the house but also more organization and less stuff. So happy with it!

Last week I started building the Christmas Card Kits – to be available in my stores by the end of September – and also created two new Christmas badge sets. Badges sets are already available at Etsy and Dawanda. How cute is that vintage reindeer?

I also finished scrapping with the October kits by Dani Peuss and love all the layouts I created. The October kits have a graphic feel and I love that black thickers so very much!

I also scrapped a quick page to match with one that I already shared here. I still had some photos taken that same day in Portugal but I already had them in the project life album and in the other kids albums so I decided to add a simple page to big girl’s album and call it done.

While moving to the new studio I sorted and organized my supplies, and hope to use what I have. These letter stickers came with a Studio Calico kit ages ago. I finally broke it and used it.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful week!

Today I am bringing you a really cool blog post.

Two weeks ago I got an email from Emily aka justem tagging me to participate in the ongoing “Favorite Scrappers” blog hop. Thank you so much, Emily!

So here I go:

1. What am I working on right now?

Last weekend I finish scrapping with the October Kits by Dani Peuss and today I spend the day cleaning and getting things ready to move into my new studio :) I am beyond happy that my room is almost ready! Here is a photo I took this afternoon:

I am moving from the attic to the first floor on our former kitchen. And where is the kitchen, you might be asking? It is now in the living room. We have had a pretty large living area and an open kitchen building an “L”. We closed the passage to the open kitchen and build a new kitchen in the now “I”-form living room. So I am getting a new kitchen and a studio / guest room downstairs. It is 12 sqm and has two large windows. My husband just painted it all white (the former kitchen was gray). I am a very lucky girl!

2. How long does it take me to create a project?

Not very long. Usually I can finish a page in about an hour, give or take. I usually start my layouts with the photos. From there I pick the papers I want to use (mostly from one kit or one collection so it does not take forever to find matching products) and go from there. I have all my embellishments organized in clear bags, so I can quickly find something that fits to include in the project as well.

3. What are my favorite things to create with at the moment?

White cardstock and enamel dots. Tags, labels and badges are must haves too :)

Blue Skies

4. How does my writing/creating process work?

I usually start with the photos I want to scrap. I them pick papers or a kit that fits to the mood of the photos and the story I want to tell. I love to color coordinate the photos and the papers.

For the page layout I love to use sketches and I have tons of inspiring layouts on my pinterest “scrapbooking” board and on my Inspiration book at Studio Calico.

5. How do I become inspired and stay inspired?

I do not have lack of inspiration but lack of time LOL Seriously. I only need to look at the Studio Calico gallery or Pinterest and I sure get my hands iching to create something.

5.  What is my signature style?

Simple, color coordinated with little colorful details. I do always use my sew machine and add some layers too. Is this a style? LOL

Beach fun

I should now tag my favorite scrappers but I do not “know” them so I feel I bit weird to tag them. So I’ll be linking to their work and blogs, so you can inspire yourself visiting them as well:

My absolutely favorite scrapper is Lisa Truesdell and I’ve been following her work for years. I actually started scrapping 8.5 x 11″ inspired by her.

Becky Novacek  is an awesome scrapper and her gallery is the first one I check every month when the new layouts go up at Studio Calico. I specially love how she works with color and the handmade look of her layouts.

I am loving the work of Janine Langer right now. Her layouts always have lots of beautiful details.

I can’t finish a favorite scrappers blog post without mentioning the work of Jen Jockish. I am so sad that she stopped scrapping, or at least posting in the galleries and closed her blog. Love her layouts so very much!

Thank you so much for tagging my, Emily!

I was thinking about fall birthday party themes that can be used for boys and girls birthdays and this week I decided to work on a barnyard party.

I love how it turned out!

And just because I am so in love with these party printables I also did a journaling cards set for all of us who are not celebrating fall birthdays ;) Did I tell you that this set of journaling cards is ready to download at the Baers Garten Facebook Page? And that is for free? Be sure to not miss it! You only need to like the Baers Garten Designs Facebook page and them the set will be available for download (and all the future freebies that I’ll add there too!)

This set also includes a ready to print PDF. The journaling cards printables from my ETSY store always includes both the cards are separated JPG files and a ready to print PDF.

There is lots of scrapbooking inspiration out there but I really, really love a good sketch based on a great layout.

Enter the Sunday sketch at Studio Calico. This week’s sketch is a really great one and I made a bit time to scrap with it, so happy that I did.

I changed the sketch a bit including a pocket behind the photos. The pocket is a 6×6″ paper from the South of Market Paper Pad.

It fits the “diving navigation book” from Sea Life perfectly.

The turtles Schild & Kroti and the penguin Flapsy also had a great time that day ;)

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend!
