A couple of weeks ago I came across this article called “The mom stays in the picture“, which I’ve already read sometimes in the past. Back them, I thought to myself, I am doing a good job having my picture taken. My husband and I care to have photos of us with the kids. I even make a family album with the photos of the 5 of us.
Sounds great, right? But while reading that article again, I felt that there was something missing. Not the photos, because we have been taking them, but the photos in the albums.
If you scroll down and look at my recent posts with layouts (and the not so recent too), you will understand what I mean. The cute kids are everywhere, but not the parents.
I started printing photos and scrapping like a mad woman LOL I so wanted to try a serie of layouts, as the upper-talented Becky Novacek showed on the Studio Calico Blog back in January, so I got to work. I used mainly the new Maggie Holmes Confetti Collection from Crate Paper and other goodies I was holding on forever.
So please excuse me if this post will get ridiculously long, because it will. I have a couple of layouts to share today
Layout nr 1 highlights a photo I took from my husband and the kids on his birthday. Because dads also have birthdays (something you would never think if you look in my kids albums).
I simply love all the cut outs in this pack. I highly recommend it.
For layout nr 2 I choice a family photo for the big girl’s album. It will also make its appeareance in the family album but now she has it too, the photo-bomb girl LOL
Because since I am doing a family album, I stopped printing family pictures for the kids albums. Makes sense?
Love the digital Odyssey alpha that I purchased at Studio Calico. Unfortunately it was only available in March.
I also printed and scrapped lots of Disneyland photos. Because mom and dad also went to Disneyland with the kids. You would never think we were there too if you saw all the pages I scrapped about that trip.
Layouts nr 3 & 4 are about Dumbo (and mama)
I’ve been saving these October Afternoon cards for years! So happy to have it in the little girl’s album now!
Tea cups anybody? In the layouts 5 & 6 I share a childhood memory of mine as well. In the town that I was born, there was a little park with tea cups like those. They were my favorite ride back them. And I snapped that picture of my husband and the kids that I love so much. So much happiness.
Oh, so beautiful papers from the Crate Paper Craft Market 6×6″ Scrapbooking Paper Pad.
And more flowers from the Maggie Holmes Confetti Die cuts Pack.
Journaling is hidden in a tag in the layout below.
Play badge available on my etsy and dawanda stores.
And last but not least, layout nr 7 features the big thunder montain, favorite of the kids (I got a bit scared LOL). I used the great alpha stamps again and lots of bits from the Crate Paper Open Road Ephemera Pack. This layout could also be called “how to fill a page and not let any blank spot”. It is kind of different of the other pages I scrap and I like it. I might lift it soon.
You can never go wrong with wood veneer stars.
I still have more layouts to share, because I really got to scrap like a mad woman lately, but this post is already the longest ever and I got to keep something to share with you next week.
Thank you so much for stopping by today and get in the page!
