Stadtlauf – Layout

My daughter participated in the city run this year, she did pretty good and we really love that she wants to do it all. You go girl!

I took some pictures of her when she arrived and received her medal. But she had her eyes closed in all of them, so I asked her to look at the camera and keep her eyes open LOL

I used the November Kit “Sock Hop” from Studio Calico and the Sunday sketch based on this card by Maggie Holmes.

Fashion Memories

Fashion memories *Studio Calico October Kit*

I am still firm in my resolution to get my own pictures scrapped and stories told.

This layout is about my clothes preference in my early twenties, so fun. I loved romantic dresses and jumpers, the more small flowers or patterns the better. I was saving that Little Yellow Bicycle paper since, well, three years, waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it (in fact I did not want to cut it or to cover it LOL). I thought the colors went great with my Studio Callico Kit leftovers and the blue background, so I decided to put it in good use, finally.

Love that stamp from Stampers Anonymous.

I remember we stopped in the highway to take this picture because the bridge we were about to cross is so long that we could not see the other side. There is a better take when the two of us actually look to the camera, I’ll use that picture to scrap about the trip 😉

Have you scrapped a picture of YOU lately?

Studio Calico October Kits

I love to scrap with kits. And I am so in love with my first Studio Calico Kit, Roller Rink .

I was kind of scared last week when I realized how empty the 2012 kids albums are. I mean, around 10 layouts in each album is not nearly enough, and we are already in November! I decided to get lots of pictures scrapped with my October Kit and in the album this week before the November Kit arrives – and them, of course, get lots of pictures scrapped and story told using it too 🙂

First layout, my husband and my son during the Father’s Day celebration in the Kindergarden. They walked and ate together, it was a perfectly sunny day.

The second layout is a page for the big girl album, this time with pictures from our Summer vacation in Brazil. I have kind of 3758506972 pictures from this month to scrap. And Project Life page spreads. Thank God for my daily planner.

The next layout is a birthday layout – did you not recognize it? 🙂 Little girl and her Godfather on her birthday.

(love these wood looking thickers! – For this layout I added a sheet of the 6×6 in paper from the cute “Little Bo Peep” paper pad. It fits perfectly to the kit’s colors and it is green, little girl’s favorite color.

And last, a picture I cherish so much: my boy playing with the ginormous Lego city. We resized it down to one table and he got a desk in his room but the large city was so much fun.

One Layout or Two

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon and I decided to scrap these cute pictures of my little girl in her favorite place in the holiday: the turtles beach. I also wanted to put my silhouette cameo to a good use and created the chevron pattern to go with the beautiful background paper from Studio Calico.

I wrote my journaling in a card (from the Notebook Basic 1 set) and put it in a pocket (made of the paper bags I send the journaling cards available on my Etsy store) …

…added a little badge, in the perfect shade of yellow 🙂

And the title, with my favorite Thickers.

Everything seemed perfect and I happily grabbed Anna’s album to put the layout in the plastic protector when I realized the background paper had a wrong size!

I know it is totally weird but Anna’s album in Letter size (8.5×11 in) and Maisa’s album is A4 size (8,3×11.7 in). Next year I want to have all albums one size (Letter) but 2011 and 2012 are like that and I happened to scrap a page for Anna in the background size of Maisa’s album. So I had to change things a bit.

I had basically the same pictures taken from my big girl and I replaced them in the page, carefully took out Anna’s pictures, wrote a new journaling card and voila.

I was only a bit discontent about that stripe of lilac washi tape in the upper corner, because it matched to Anna’s t-shirt but not to Maisa’s. Unfortunately it was already stitched down so I prefered to leave it as is. I like the page, I am happy I had the perfect pictures to be alble to keep it 🙂

And what happened with Anna’s pictures? well, they got a new page, following the same sketch and I got it scrapped in a blink. I decided to change the color scheme and I think it worked as great as in the first try.

Same letter thickers and the “simply perfect day” badge, which matched better to this page. The sequins were a suggestion from the little girl itself and I gladly accepted.

Das September Kit

The September Kit by Dani, Sternenhimmel, is already shipping and I can highly recomend. Dani’s choice of papers is always awesome but his month she has really outdone herself. I absolutely love the papers from the manufacturer I Lowe Scrap.

I did 4 layouts and the Spain mini album I already shared here in the blog with this kit. Today I’ll share two of the layouts, the other two have to wait because they made into this month’s booklet.

Once upon a time

On the little girls 4th birthday day we went to a wonderful fairy tale castle with her Godfather and his wife. It was a wonderful day for the little princess.

Hello Freebie

Last week I was making a layout and wanted to have one of those “hello my name is” cards. I am pretty sure I have one somewhere in my stash, but I counld not find it and decided to make one for my own, so here they are.

 Hello Labels

They are yours to download here.

Please do not share this link and do not redistribute this download, but send your friends to this blog post so they can grab the labels by they own. Thank you!

And here is the layout I scrapped:

Have fun with the labels!

7 years

Seven years ago my life changed forever with the arrival of my little girl.

I did not know how difficult would be to be a mother, but she is the best daughter, we learn all together along the way.

I thought it would be fun to show the birthday layouts I scrapped for her:
First Birthday
Second Birthday
Thrid Birthday
Birthday Girl
5th birthday

135 - Six

Happy birthday sweet princess of mine! I love you more than words can say!

Boys Boys Boys

I still have some baby boy layouts to share 🙂

Happy Memories:

 Happy Memories

The story of the day we could hold our baby boy for the first time. He was 2 weeks old. It was one of the most beautiful days in my life. I will never forget how I felt.

 Happy Memories

Love the Studio Calico Wood Veneer People. Tag is from the Amy Tangerine Sketchbook Die Cut Shapes (totally recomend this pack, lots of cute and useful bits in it) as well as the Amy Tangerine Sketchbook Stamp (a new favorite).

Little boy at home, he was so tiny!

This is a very old number sticker, but I love the color and the texture!

In this page I used two Echo Park papers I really love: Inventory and Yardsticks. They are seriously meant to be cut and used as embellishments. Love how many pieces I got from one 12×12″ sheet of paper!

More Baby Boy Layouts

Today I have some pages from the baby boy album nr 2. I so love to see all of the layouts together and organized chronologically. I do also love to scrap some new pages in 8×8″. I did not do it for a long time and I have forgotten how fun it is.

Play - detail

8×8″ is a great format because it feels complete with a 6×4″ picture.

I did also play with smaller pictures combined with busy / patterned background.

More baby boy layouts to come, stay tunned 🙂

Baby Boy Layouts

When I started the album project with my baby and childhood pictures I thought it was time to make a major re-do in the kids baby albums too. I purchased coordinating 8×8″ American Crafts Cloth Albums and started the organization process. The first album set that arrived was the blue. It has a wonderful quality and finish. I love the color!

I placed 60 page protectors in each album and started sorting. I had layouts in albums but they were not properly sorted. I did also had some random 12×12″ layouts that did not fit in the new albums. Most of the layouts from that time were digital and printed 8×8″.

It was lot of work to sort everything but oh so fun. I love seeing all the baby pictures and read the stories.

If you know me you can imagine that there was some layouts that did not make the new album 😉

Here are some of the pages I re-did:

I think I really love to re-do layouts. It is a quick process as photos are printed, journaling is written and I just have to pick up product and make a page I love.

My process is pretty easy: I grab my box with scraps of patterned paper and 1-2 paper pads that I like (in this case I picked the Storyteller from crate paper and the Take Note from Studio Calico) and go. I do not need more than 20 minutes for a page. Yesterday I did all of these I am sharing today while the kids were playing in the backyard – thank God for a rain free afternoon!

First flight

The title in the layout above is made of letter stickers leftovers. The “L” was a number 1, the “i” was a J 😉 I love this foam alpha so much, and I intend to use all of the letters 🙂

First Flight

(Stamp is from the Amy Tangerine Sketchbook set and handmade Tag from my Etsy and Dawanda stores)

Now let me go upstairs and finish some pages before I pick up the kids from school and kindergarden.
