One little word 2014

One Little Word: Make

My one Little word for 2014 is make.

My word has found me in the last week of December while I was making a list of the things I want to accomplish this year.

I suddenly realized I wanted to MAKE things: sew, scrap, organize, travel, document, take pictures, read, teach, connect.

I want to choice to make instead of waiting, insteady of saying “later”. “Make” as the opposite of “procrastinate”. “Make” as living more a handmade life. Making better choices for me and my family.

I feel happier when I am doing things. I love the feeling that I accomplished something. That’s why I prefer to walk instead of driving, that’s why I craft, I cook and I clean my home a lot. This year I finally want to making things that are on my to-do list for ages.

I created this little box including pieces that represent my Goals for 2014.

It is now on my studio. To remember me. To inspire. To keep me on making.

One Little Word – February

It is the first of February, so it is time to conect with my one little word for 2013 and make a balance of January.

My one little word for 2013 is achieve. You can read my January post about it here.

One little word 2013

I set three goals for January:

 – blog 4 times a week

– make an inspiration magazine or products look book

– declutter 4 spaces in my house (with space I do not mean an entire room but rather a closet or the kitchen cabinets for example).

I am happy to say that I achieved all of my January goals! I managed to blog not only 4 but 6 times a week. I did an inspiration mygazine for my Winter Wonderland Kit. I was able to declutter few cabinets in the kitchen, the bookshelf and the baby clothes I had in storage. I gave things away, I put things in the garbage, I (my husband) sold things on Ebay.

I want to keep moving forward my goals for 2013, for that I am adding 3 new goals to my January goals:

My goals for February are:

– keep blogging (at least) 4 times a week

– make another look book

– declutter 10 small spaces in my house (drawers, shelves, boxes in storage).

– read a book

– make a really cool birthday party for the boy

– make an album about the time we lived in Sudan.

Let’s see where February will take me. How are you doing with your own one little word?

One Little Word 2013

I’ve been thinking about my one little word for 2013 for few weeks already but wasn’t sure about it until few days ago.
One little word 2013

Last year I accomplish a lot with my focus on family (my one little word for 2012) and I want to “keep the good work” with the kids but concentrate on making my dreams come true. And all of sudden my one little word for 2013 found me. And it is simply perfect and summarize how I am feeling in these early 2013 days.

There is a lot I want to achieve in my life this year. I want to live in the moment. I want to focus on my work and be more productive. I have lots of ideas and need to get better organized and make it happen. I want to read more, exercise more, and play more with the kids. Time flies. I feel like it is just running through my fingers, I want to make the best of it.

I did a little book where I will keep track of my journey this year. I used a wonderful paper from my Studio Calico October Kit for the cover and bind it with twine.

One little word 2013

I decided to set three goals for each month of the year. I’ll share them here every month and make a balance of the previous month as well.

In January I wand to achieve:

– blog 4 times a week

– make an inspiration magazine or products look book

– declutter 4 spaces in my house (with space I do not mean an entire room but rather a closet or the kitchen cabinets for example).

That’s it, do you have a one little word for 2013?
