Memory Keeping

“Something I forget a lot, and have to remind myself about a lot: I’m not on my way somewhere.

This moment isn’t just a stepping stone to get to another place. It’s the destination. I’m already here.

I’m not on my way to a more important moment. This current moment is the most important moment.

This might be obvious to some of you, but I forget a lot. It’s not usually obvious until I remind myself. And even then, it takes some convincing, because I have a tendency to discount this moment and think the important ones are coming up soon.

Each moment rushes by, because we’re on our way somewhere else. They rush by, rush by, and whoosh are gone. We don’t notice them, because they’re unimportant. Our lives become a huge pile of unnoticed unimportant moments on our way to more important things. The important things also get tossed on the same pile, until we’re left wondering where it all went.

Each moment is like the dew on grass, fragile, ready to evaporate, precious. Let’s not waste each moment with neglect.”

I’ve been not taking lots of pictures lately but this is not Problem to me, I take notes and it is not difficult to fill a page per week.

I love the one page per week format!

The “the best” sentiment is from the Dear Lizzy Rotary Phrase stamp. I am seriusly addicted to these Phrase stamps, adding those sweet little words to all of my Projects.

I will take some time to scrap today, even if there is lot of work to be done, if I do not make time to scrap, nobody will do for me 😉

As always, lot of text. I Keep a Journal and write everything we did, even the things we are doing every week like the classes that the kids attend in the afternoons. That’s the way I like it 🙂

Project Life – Week 1

Project Life - Week 1

(Calendar 2014 journaling Cards available in English on my Etsy store and German on my Dawanda store)

Another year of Project in the begins! It is my 3rd year and I still love this Project.

During the past 2 years I’ve been doing a pretty laid back “Format”. I just went with the flow, adding Pictures and words and turning the page when it was full. No worries if there was less or more than one week in a spread.

I’ve loved and followed this format for two years but I find so difficult to go back and catch up when I miss a week. And I realized that I miss at least 4 weeks every time we go on vacation: I miss at least the week before, the two weeks we are out and the following week.

So, when I am back to scrap, 4 or 5 weeks after the last words + pictures in the PL Album, I usually just started with a new page protector and hoped for the Inspiration to catch up with the lost weeks. When I finally had the Pictures and the time and the Inspiration, I had to fit everything in this “space” I left between the weeks I already have done. Not always easy as it sounds.

So, for 2014, I decided to go with a one page per week Format. So, when I miss a week it will be sure much easier to go back and fill in the spaces.

And I decided to keep it simple. No embellished journaling cards anymore. Just simple plain ledger cards for the journaling. Keeping the stitches and layers for the scrapbooking layouts 😉

I want to stay updated, to keep it going and to not freak out LOL
