Color inpiration: Red

Red is power, hence the red power tie for business people and the red carpet for celebrities and VIPs.

Flashing red lights denote danger or emergency. Stop signs and stop lights are red to get the drivers’ attention and alert them to the dangers of the intersection.

In some cultures, red denotes purity, joy, and celebration. Red is the color of happiness and prosperity in China and may be used to attract good luck.

I love how the red kit of my color collection turned out. Lots of small bits here that can be used in a variety of other pages and ATCs. And the papers are yummy too 🙂

Color inspiration: White

White is my favorite color. I love to wear white and I am surrounded by white in my house. My kitchen has white cabinets, my girls bedroom has white furniture. I love white frames for my colorful pictures. White bedding, white window treatments. It is no surprise that The voices of color – White Kit is my favorite one in the collection:

and the quick pages:

White is a color, the perception which is evoked by light that stimulates all three types of color sensitive cone cells in the human eye in nearly equal amounts and with high brightness compared to the surroundings. A white visual stimulation will be void of hue and grayness.

White light can be generated in many ways. The sun is such a source, electric incandescence is another. Modern light sources are fluorescent lamps and light-emitting diodes. An object that does not alter the color of light reflected from its surface will appear white, compared to the surroundings, unless it has very high specular reflection.

Since white objects such as clouds, snow and flowers appear often in nature, human culture has many references to white, often related to purity and cleanness. The high contrast between white and black is used to represent opposites. In some cultures, like Chinese, white is considered to be a color that represents death. On the other hand in many cultures white represents purity, freedom, and hygenic purity.

I can not resist to share some white pictures of mine:

Color inspiration: Yellow

As I promisse, I’ll share with you my inspiration for my The voices of color collection during the next days. I’ll start with Yellow today.

Here is The voices of color – Yellow Kit

 and the quick pages:

Yellow is a bright that is often described as cheery and warm.

Yellow can also create feelings of frustration and anger. While it is considered a cheerful color, people are more likely to lose their tempers in yellow rooms and babies tend to cry more in yellow rooms.

Since yellow is the most visible color, it is also the most attention-getting color. Yellow can be used in small amount to draw notice, such as on traffic sign or advertisements.
