I can’t believe it is interNational Scrapbooking day again! I love to look around and see what everyone is doing and on NSD there is a lot going on the blogs and forums, it is so much fun!
On NSD I specially miss Two Peas in a Bucket, all the challenges, the wonderful inspiration from the Garden Girls and the sales 😉 The past years I’ve been playing along at Studio Calico and this year was no exception. The challenges are fun and I got 5 pages scrapped the past two days. I am feeling like a scrapbook world champion and full of inspiration to scrap more pages and even to film a new class for my Skillshare channel.
I did the page “Snow Days” inspired by the Sketch challenge for the boy’s 2016 album. I love a grid layout and golden snowflakes!
The “Go for a Hike” layout with photos from our short vacation the Black Forest last December is going to the little girl’s album. I love this background paper but it is so bold, I did not know how to use it. A color challenge, to only use 3 colors, was the answer. I love how it turned out.
Speaking of bold backgrounds, I was saving this paper with the big 8 for a 8th birthday layout (obviously) and this was, by far, the layout I spend most time working on. I had a hard time figuring out how to place everything here and which embellishments to use.
The layout below was for the color challenge. A mix of blues and yellow, so difficult to scrap with! So I went with lots of layers, this way the colors are only peeking out and do not overwhelm the page. The gold helps to tie everything together.
And last, my favorite challenge, to add layers 🙂 I always try to incorporate some layers on my layouts, so this was fun to me.
And you? Did you get lots of layouts scrapped during NSD? Do you love challenges the way I do?
Thanks for stopping by today!
