September was the month I got a great deal of work done for my Etsy and Dawanda shops, took photos, wrote descriptions and listed everything I still have on stock, getting ready to sell out and close the shops in the end of 2017. Continue Reading
Hello friends, July was a great month for us as we left for Summer Vacation in Lisbon and in the beautiful island of Sao Miguel. The kids were at school until the 14th, and with the boy leaving elementary school this Summer, there were lots of hellos and goodbyes around here.
Do you remember this layout I did for the little girl’s album that I shared last week? I really like how it turned out and also that I included three photos and journaling about the days in Lisbon without filling a book (BTW I am feeling a handbook with photos + words from this and other previous trips to Portugal).
You probably know this story as good as I know: there is a new amazing collection in your favorite scrapbook store and you have to have it all. You can’t wait to start using it and you sure do but them, the next collection comes, you get it too, and the “old” papers stacked away, with your stash, which keep growing and growing and never get used.
Hello and welcome to May 2017! This month I kept the documentation quite simple. One 12×12″ page per week, 16 photos.
Looking to this pages I see lots of stories I want to tell in the kids albums. Like the little girl’s love for her pink Nike Pullover, and that she is growing her bangs…
…and how the boy loves his skateboard, a gift from his aunt.
I might scrap about the end of the handball Season, how the boys lost the title in the last minute and how sad they were.
and about how the girl’s team won the Season in the very last game, and surprised everybody with their fierce and team work.
and how awesome all these kids were.
I still did not scrap a layout about my mother’s stay here this year.
And I really have to make a page with this same photo of the little girl waiting to give one of her Handball coach a flower on her Wedding Day. About how she was so impressed by the bride, who, in her words, looked like a princess.
There are so many little stories in our lives, waiting to be told. That’s why I love scrapbooking so very much.
Thank you for stopping by today.
Hello friends, here’s to my Project Life pages for April.
I lost lots of blog posts last month while I was trying some other templates for the blog. Some posts were replaced with advertisement content and I had no choice but to delete the posts and now I am re-writing them.
So, let’s do it!
This is a close up of the Lego City in the boy’s room. There are actually a city and a forest where all the princess and elves live.
Weeks 14 and 15:
Title cards from the printable set “Weekly” available on my Etsy shop.
Week 16 was “Week in the Life”, and I documented each day of the week with a two pages spread.
For week 17 I created a two pages spread. I usually take more photos and write more after a Week in the Life documentation:
That was April in the Baer’s household. Thanks for stopping by today!
It has been quite an adventure. And here I am, 135 days later, finishing my first ever 100 days project.
To say that I am happy and proud of myself is an understatement. I am beyond happy and beyond proud LOL Most of all, this great feeling comes from knowing that, this time around, I did not thought about quitting. I was there the whole time, looking forward for the next collage, collecting song lyrics quotes and paper snippets.
Day 42: Smooth
I started with the plan of overwriting an entire moleskine A6 planner from 2012 but it got so full sometimes that I decided to make the last collages on book pages or 6×6″ sheets of paper (have a bunch of old paper pads that make perfect collage backgrounds).
That’s how it looks like, I can barely close it.
Making the change to the loose sheets showed to me that I prefer the freedom of a sheet of paper x working on a notebook. So, for future collage projects I’ll sure choice to work so.
Day 80: Hey Brother
The move to the 6×6″ format was also great to get some of those old paper pads used. I have been “saving” some of the first paper pads I bought on Ebay from USA back in 2004 when there was no online scrapbook store in Germany!
a pile of 6×6″ collages
If you want to see all the collages be sure to check the hashtag #100daysofcollagesongs on Instagram.
I decided to close this project with the song lyrics of “Paradise City” from one of my favorite bands, Guns N’ Roses. This is the last song they play on their concerts and I was so lucky to see them live in Belgium last June, it was the most epic concert ever. This is my way, as a paper crafter, to pay my tribute and admiration to them and to finish what is an epic project to me.
Day 100: Paradise City
And here are all of my 100 days of collage songs:
Thanks so much for following along, for all the lovely comments and hearts. I really appreciate it and I really looked forward for them, all the time.
Last week the big girl played her bassoon on a Scholl Musical and it was such a beautiful moment. I wanted to make a page about it while everything was still fresh on my mind.
I challenged myself to use a color background and I am so happy I did.
Lots of golden accents and layering. I used a card and a label from the Roman Holiday Kit, a gold transparency from the Crate Paper Poolside – also from a past SC Kit, stars from the Felix Christmas collection and that text stripe. Love all the bits of gold!
Thanks for stopping by today!
